rem the bunny ears in my office i talked about last time? once i put them in the sun when i went teaching and halfway it poured. the pot does not hav holes at the bottom, hence the bunny ears drank so much that it has grown taller and oh so slender. now this looks kinda wierd.


3 really long 2 fat and a tiny

ma joined some chinese folk dance at community centre end of last year. this year chinese new year gala dinner, she had the chance to show what she s got. good exercise for her. entertaining for the rest of the family. keke.

picking up chocolate euro dollars showered by cai shen ye (god of fortune)

i was only notified on mon that the same week's friday, i will be departing to north china for 6days school networking trip. to meet the school officials and education board for meals and interaction.
this is a good break man.
immediately prepared work to pass on to relief teachers, and also packed winter luggage.

plane transit from beijing to heilongjiang. saw rain-like snow! it was cold but not unbearable.
also went to hebei.
we had more than expected time to shop around. beijing's fashion sucks though. anyway it is a cultural hotspot. din manage to visit tiananmen and gu gong. bought a lot of tu chan(local delights).
oh yes! the dvds there damn cheap: only S$2-4. bought total of 34dvds :) initially i was thinking of going hongkong in june to buy dvds, who knows this trip is a blessing!

learnt some cultural practices:
host/vips are to be seated facing the door in the restaurant guest room. smallfries can only sit after the bigshots were seated. each person supposed to give a speech and toast of chinese white wine(39% alcohol is the lowest! 67% is max). we were made to drink, else not giving them 'face'.
their dishes are all served on the table at the same time, not like our wedding banquet one after another.
last dish is usually jiao zi(dumplings) if it is a meal to send people off. if it s welcoming people, should order noodles.

 

took up a 6 session travel and creative photography course at photographic society of scpore(pss).
just went on the first outdoor trip to spore river, the overused place for photo shoots. this time, our instructor told us to stay at a spot for 20-30min, looking for interesting angle and details to shoot. took one and a half rolls of film, here are a few of them.
sunday morning at spore river is really tranquil. even the pubs look innocent.

haha resurrected computer! no more going to sleep!

lesson learnt: if still under warranty, get the staff to come down and check it out instead of self-troubleshooting with their guidance over the phone. waste time. just say my whole family are computer idiots.
